Hi all,

I was suggested by some one on one among the list serves that I should
systematically document the wildlife ( Flora & fauna) of the Rajmachi. The
area was proposed as WLS by the state forest dept. couple of years ago. The
proposed area of sanctuary was to cover apprx. 400 Sq. Kms and was named as
Father H Santapau WLS - the great botanist who had worked on the flora of
sahyadri.

Now, I want people on this forum to suggest me that apart from the below
mentioned format of documenting the wildlife of Rajmachi, what else one
could do best to achieve the aim of the documentation purpose of getting it
declared as PA in Maharashtra.

1) GPS area marking ( Way point and tracks marking through the only path
leading from Tungarli dam to the atop of the fort. To mention the geography
of area, the path of apprx 14 Kms leading to top of the fort is maximum 200
Mtrs. in width and is having hills on one side and valley on other side. So,
my scope of documentation the diversity is very limited , through the path
only.

2) Collection of sign of presence specimens such as PUG MARKS, HOOF MARKS
plaster casting. Other signs such as scretch marks, droppings are also
equally important, dropings, scats i can collect in the field and send it
to the veternary colleges for its further analysis.

3) Gathering the database of the prior information being made available in
sense of Thesis, Scientific reports, journals and field trip reports by the
naturalist of the region.

4) Photographing anything , such as Flora & fauna , which is suspicious to
be new or lesser reported in the earlier field trip reports, along with the
GPS way point marking on the device.

Anything else, kindly suggest.

Thanks & regards
