Hi, Neil ji, for the feedback. I couldn't find *Ipomea quamoclit* as syn. of *Ipomoea hederifolia*. I think there is some misunderstanding.
As per Wikipedia link on *Ipomea quamoclit* http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cypress_vine : *Ipomoea quamoclit* (*Cardinal Creeper* or *Hummingbird Vine* or *Star Glory *) is a species of morning glory <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ipomoea>native to tropical regions of the New World <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_World> from northern South America<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_America>north to Mexico <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexico>. It is an annual <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Annual_plant> or perennial<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perennial_plant> herbaceous <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herbaceous> twining vine<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vine>growing to 1-3 m tall. The leaves <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leaf> are 2-9 cm long, deeply lobed (nearly pinnate) with 9-19 lobes on each side of the leaf. The flowers<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flower>are 3-4 cm long and 2 cm diameter, trumpet-shaped with five points, and can be red, pink or white; flowering is from early summer to late fall. As per link http://www.hear.org/Pier/species/ipomoea_hederifolia.htm on *Ipomoea hederifolia,* description particularly leaves are different.
