It has to be *Smithea bigemina* an annual herb 15-30 cm high. It is known to be found there..........rather in abundance. I am sure everybody visiting Kas in September has at least one photograph of this. It produces large yellow carpets on the plateaus. It is also found in Lonavala and Mahabaleshwar.
