The much awaited first issue of the totally open access, monthly, peer-reviewed, global Journal of Threatened Taxa is online. The journal has been launched on January 26 and is available at www.threatenedtaxa.org. You will be happy to know that the first 64 pages of the journal as the first issue have been published online on 26 January 2009. This is a completely accessible, no subscription, no download charge peer-reviewed journal that reaches out to the conservation and taxonomy publication needs around the world. We have kept the site pretty simple and basic providing the absolute necessities for journal publication in an open access format. We will be constantly seeking inputs from our editors, readers and supporters, and hope to improve the content manager in the months to come. We urge you to be part of this journal and make it a success. We look forward to your constant support and inputs in ensuring that the standard and quality remains high and timely.
