Hi, Tejal ji & others,
I have put these books on Indiantreepix home page for downloading. Can you
check up copyright issues & confirm that they are not voilating it
(otherwise I have to remove them from Indiantreepix Home page)?
As some doubts have been raised by Ashwin ji & others about copyright as
below:
"Dear Gargji,
Please be careful of violating copyright. A book can be put up if:-
(a) The copyright expires which it does 60 years after death of the author.
OR
(b) The author has given her permission.
Since the book is published in India in 1983, it would still be under
copyright. Wikipedia clarifies 'public domain' in case of India at the
fllowing page:-
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Public_domain#India
where the following text is displayed :-
"The general rule is that image copyright lasts for 60 years. In the case
of original literary, dramatic, musical and artistic works the 60-year
period is counted from the year following the death of the author. In the
case of cinematograph films, sound recordings, photographs, posthumous
publications, anonymous and pseudonymous publications, works of government
and works of international organisations, the 60-year period is counted from
the date of publication."
The relevant site is :-
http://copyright.gov.in/
In case Dr Pippa's permission has not been taken, please remove this from
the website. You may like to check the status of other uploaded books too!
Sorry to be a wet blanket!
Ashwin
