I spotted this big Mahua tree on Sunday15th Feb 2009 on the outskirts of 
Pune.After looking at the features it appears to be 
Madhuca longifolia var.latifolia

The differentiating features seen here(As compared to Madhuca longifolia 
var.longifolia)are
Bigger and rounded leaves not longish
Flowers also bigger.
Anthers 3 seriate as against 2 seriate.
This tree had shed all its leaves so I had to collect dried leaves from the 
ground for measurements.
