i am not sure but longifolia name must have come from long leaves.
in the picture the leaves donot appear long.
i have missed the mails inbeetween. if it has been already discussed please
excuse me but i feel it must be Madhuca indica.
i had thought of mentioning one movie Beautiful Peaople in which they have
shown how the elephants , monkeys get drowsy after eating the fruits of
mahua.rather all these animals gather under the mahua tree in season to eat the
fruits.
in adivasi areas they collect the flowers and dry them. these are used to make
liqure latter.
flowers are sweetish in taste.
i hope the information suits the site.
