Ficus exasperata is also known as F. serrata, F. scabra and F.
silicea. It is actually an african plant, local name not known. Leaves
are very coarse, with deposition of silicon and hence has similarity
with sand paper. Some of our Our own Ficus plants as F. glomerata and
others have also very coarse leaves, and often used to pick up bristle
and stings from larvae etc if they get stucked on skin
