Ranjini,
In Bengali its called Thankuni. Widespread in Gangetic Bengal. Its a wetland 
plant found in marshy places. Its a very popular and common medicinal plant. 
Propagates thru runners as can be seen in  one of your pix. Advised in 
ayurvedic treatment of diabeties.
