Nice pic Ranjini. Would also have liked a pix of the front of the flower. It must be rare for Camellias to flower as far south as Bangalore. C. japonica is from the same genus as Camellia sinensis, the leaves of which provide us with Tea. Tea flowers are white, but it is rare to see a Tea flower in Darjeeling, since the the Tea " trees " are heavily pruned to a height of 3' - 4', which may be over 100 yrs old.
