Dear members, After days of hard work, Indiantreepix Database upto 6th August' 09 in Excel (around 4.7 MB) is finally ready. It is available at Indiantreepix home page: http://groups.google.co.in/group/indiantreepix & can be downloaded from there. It has more than *1800 species of plants* (with more than 16,000 messages) in it, which goes on to say how much data we are sharing & accumulating for benefit of members.
It is almost* like a desktop book* for whatever we are sharing, with most useful links put in along with Indiantreepix links, to know any details just by a click of the mouse. Try *Edit--> Find* to find any word/ name in this database, as it is *alphabetically arranged by scientific name* only, with synonyms also thrown in where ever possible. I have started adding more vernacular names- I thank Dinesh ji & Tabish ji for allowing me to take names from their pages/website. I think this will be a great help to all the members in one way or the other. It is brought out for educational purposes only. There are going to be certain mistakes & inaccuracies. Members are requested to point them out to me for corrections. I have also started putting special articles like 'PICKING SEEDS' , 'My Dream Garden' etc. & unidentified plants at the end of the Database starting with Zz Unided-.... *Any feedback about these unidentified plants is welcome.* * *I request all members* to provide date & place upto state level* so that flowering data can be incorporated in the Database, along with following other posting guidelines. I thanks all the experts & members, who has made this endeavour possible for the benefit of everyone. -- With regards, J.M.Garg ([email protected]) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Jmgarg1 'Creating awareness of Indian Flora & Fauna' Image Resource of thousands of my images of Birds, Butterflies, Flora etc. (arranged alphabetically & place-wise): http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:J.M.Garg For learning about Indian Flora, visit/ join Google e-group- Indiantreepix: http://groups.google.co.in/group/indiantreepix?hl=en --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "indiantreepix" group.
