Dear Rashidaji and Barry,
Very interesting discussions on Adansonia.
I would also like to add 2 points which I think can be useful:

1. In Mandu, Madyapradesh one can find many Adansonia in the forest around a
fort. Locals use ripe fruits to make a delicious juice.
2. Some time ago, I had come across news on the shifting of Adansonia in
Australia. Details are as under.

This handout photo from Prospero Productions, taken on July 14, 2008 and
received July 20, 2008 shows a boab tree being transported on the back of a
truck, somewhere between Kununurra and Broome, from its home in the remote
northern Kimberley district of Western Australia state. Australian Aboriginals
replanted the ancient boab tree on July 20, 2008 in Perth after it was driven
thousands of kilometres with a police escort to save it from destruction. Photo
