garg ji and fellow members,
While sitting in California I got the idea? Could we also have mechanism of
compiling plants outside India clicked by our members. Members could send
photographs with a tag, so that they go to a separate database, and there is
no confusion with Indian Database. This will help comparing Indian plants
with their close relatives outside India. The immediate plant that comes to
my mind is Nerium oleander (which is very common here) and Indian Nerium
indicum. Similarly Platanus occidentalis of America and our Plnatanus
orientalis. There are numerous other species with which our plants are often
confuse, e.g. Sambucus ebulus and our S. wightiana, Phyllanthus niruri and
P. fraternus and many others. Plus there are numerous interesting plants
that our members may click outside India, but need to be kept separately, to
avoid confusion, but available for ready reference.
Kindly give a thought to this idea
