Fruits of not all Passiflora species are edible (at least, not usually eaten). The commonly eaten one is Passion Fruit (Passiflora edulis). The species name edulis means edible. Mostly, the juice is extracted for drinking. In NE India, Passion Fruit juice is sold in the markets. http://www.flowersofindia.net/catalog/slides/Passion%20Fruit.html There are some other blue-purple passion flowers too: http://www.flowersofindia.net/catalog/slides/Purple%20Passion%20Flower.html http://www.flowersofindia.net/catalog/slides/Blue%20Passion%20Flower.html - Tabish
