A naturalist is a person who accompanies tourists (at a resort or with a travel company) on guided tours to wilderness areas, mostly national parks and sanctuaries. A good naturalist works as a facilitator, helping tourists understand more about Indian wilderness and its conservation and India in general. Hence, in addition to wildlife knowledge, she/he should preferably be conversant with wildlife and conservation issues, have good skills of communication with diversity of people and genuine interest in this kind of work.
