Hi, If this is a shrub of 3-4 m high, with flowers in racemes and fruits of about 1 cm across, then it is most probably Solanum anguivi (= S. indicum, S. violaceum; a common species in bangalore too).
S. anguivi is traded as 'Katheli-Badhi' and known as Brhati / Simhi in Sanskrit. regards vijayasankar On 9/21/09, Nayan Singh <[email protected]> wrote: > > Dear Vijayadas ji and Rajini ji > to me your plant looks like > Solanum surttens, the Solanum torvum have white flowers > thanks > > N.S.Dungriyal IFS > Chief Conservator of Forests > and Field Director > Satpura Tiger Reserve Hoshangabad > M.P. > 09424792100 > > > ------------------------------ > *From:* Vijayadas D <[email protected]> > *To:* ranjini kamath <[email protected]> > *Cc:* indiatreepix <[email protected]> > *Sent:* Monday, 21 September, 2009 11:28:36 AM > *Subject:* [indiantreepix:19033] Re: Wild Flower for ID-210909-RK-1 > > Whether it is Solanum torvum ? > > On Mon, Sep 21, 2009 at 8:55 AM, ranjini kamath <[email protected]>wrote: > >> Wild Brinjal?Bannarghatta-17-09-09.Request Bot.ID. >> Thanks >> Ranjini Kamath >> >> >> -- >> VijayadasD >> Horticulturalist / Estates Supervisor Deputy >> Electro Saudi Services Ltd >> Salwa Garden Village >> Riyadh-11462,PBNO-7210 >> KSA >> vijayadas.wetpaint.com >> >> Ferns are funniest plants..............!!!!! >> > > > ------------------------------ > Keep up with people you care about with Yahoo!
