Sorry Tabish ji for bringing this up. For last 30 years or so Datura and Brungmansia are treated as two distinct genera, former including herbaceous members with erect flowers, latter woody members with pendent flowers. I find that whereas Datura mollis is correctly listed as Brugmansia versicolor at Flowers of India website, Datura suaveolens is still listed under Datura. It should be changed to Brugmansia suaveolens, with Datura suaveolens as synonym (basionym) for the sake of uniformity. -- Dr. Gurcharan Singh Associate Professor, Department of Botany, SGTB Khalsa College University of Delhi, Delhi-110007 Res: 932 Anand Kunj, Vikas Puri, New Delhi-110018 Phone: 011025518297; Mobile: 9810359089 http://people.du.ac.in/~singhg45/
