I am 100% sure it is a Schefflera Pankaj. I have seen a virtually identical
species in Vietnam and a very similar species (in leaf) in China, for
example. Google Schefflera delavayi to see a similar leaf shape.

We found 4 species of Schefflera in Manipur, one of them being S.
rhododendrifolia, but the others remain a mystery.

It is definitely *not *an Aralia sp., many species of which I have grown
and many more I've seen wild. A very different leaf morphology.

Are there no species lists for certain Indian States? I see Flora of
Manipur online has been started, but has a long way to go... According to
that, these Schefflera are not endemic to Manipur alone, so should be known
from other States.

PS I'm not sure why, but I cannot see the image I posted originally above
any more.

Regards
Nick
