As per The Plantlist 2010, this species is now known as* Tamilnadia 
uliginosa* (Retz.) Tirveng & Sastre, while *Randia uliginosa* (Retz.) Poir. 
and *Catunaregam uliginosa* (Retz.) Sivar. are synonym while *Gardenia 
uliginosa* Retz. is basionym. Accordingly, this genus* Tamilnadia* has only 
one species (monotypic).
