*Woodfordia fruticosa* (L) Kurz (Lythraceae) is a common shrub in mid hills of Uttarakhand. The flowers produce copious nectar and in childhood we sucked it by delicately plucking flowers in the morning... I still remember the sweetness. In addition, since the stems of the shrub are straight, we used them for making stumps in the cricket. Thank you for sharing and reminding the days of childhood!
