Re-posting the pictures as there seems to have been some issue earlier

Cochlospermum vitifolium (Bixaceae): Other names: buttercup tree, silk
cotton tree,

Size: was a small-medium sized tree. Maybe 20ft. Naturally also grows to a
small height only.

Found this in a nursery near my home in Bangalore. Very similar to
Cochlospermum religiosum (yellow silk cotton tree), but the flower has lot
more petals (can say a "double version")

Gardener kept the flower near his deity's feet.

The tree is almost leafless when in flower.

Close-up pics of the leaves which were at the lower level. The top was
totally leaf-less.
