Dear all, While sending photos of Aristida genus, kindly remove and take a photograph of the floret with the trifid awn to see the relative length of the awns, length of the column, nature of twist of the column and also the attachment of the column and the trifid awn. After removing the awn from the spikelet, what remains is the lower and upper glume. Post the photograph of the glumes after removing the awned floret. The relative length of the two glumes and the relative length of the awn/arista of the glumes would help in confirming identification. Regards... Manoj Chandran.
