I do not know how to differentiate a Cyperus cyperoides from a Mariscus paniceus (Rottb.) Vahl (Cyperus paniceus). One interesting find is that while IUCN informs that the later can be found in Gujarat ( http://www.iucnredlist.org/details/176887/0), the former finds no mention in IUCN list - http://www.iucnredlist.org/details/177276/0.
