He is pursuing his PhD at IISC these days, more into ecology, but I
dont want him to loose his taxonomic skills His mom is not just
confined to Maharastra but she has been trekking to various peaks in
the Himalaya too, India and Nepal I know. Recently through Pugay she
sent me Epipogium aphyllum pics, which is a very rare orchid found at
around 4000 m asl. She took the pic somewhere near Roopkund (The Lake
of Skeletons)......When I met her for the first time, while she was
looking at my orchid pics, she said, "O I REMEMBER THIS, THIS IS
HABENARIA COMMELINIFOLIA", I was so much delighted by her
enthusiasm!!! She is really a great lady to talk to.
