This comment from a friend of mine who is an entomologist and at IFS academy right now.
"Those are the tunnels made by grub/larva of bark beetles (Family: Scolytidae). Each tunnel shows the way of each grub's (larva) way of feeding the wood during its development from larva to adult via pupa."
