Dear Dinesh
Your photographs are excellent. The views of the water fall are fantastic
and breath-taking.
I think the plant seen in your photograph is *Acalypha ciliata* Forssk.
(Gujarati names:* Dadra*, *Runchalo-dadri*; Punjabi name: *Kokali*, *Kuppi*).
The local names are not dependable as the same name is often used for
several species of the genus.
The reason why I came to this species is because the female bracts in this
species is leafy, folded, campanulate with fringed or fimbriate as several
long finger-like lobes at the rim. Whereas in *A. indica* L. the female
bracts are cup-shaped, denticulate into teeth along margins (*not fringed
or fimbriate* as in *A. ciliata*).
However, a final confirmation can be made only by studying the morphology
of flowers in detail. Please refer to the genus *Acalypha* in *Flora of
India, vol. 23:* pages 90 - 105. 2012.
