the flower stalk would be considered 'long' tho the pictures dont clearly show it, it can be infered from the stalk of a bud shown in the 1st picture above. So this would be long--stalk heart-leaf sida or *sida cordata *as shown in the flowers of india site and as per the discussion on the efloraindia page on sida cordata, rather than the short-stalk medicinal heart leaf sida or *sida cordifolia.*
I was about to rip it off while weeding but then i thought i might as well photograph it and check out what you all have to say espe since the flower is so striking.
