A reply: "Acacia mellifera is a prickly acacia with profuse fruiting and very difficut to eradicate if established. Now we are facing difficulty in eradicating it from the botanical garden here. Regeneration capasity also very high. I advice please don't plant this species near to river or streams. But it is very good species for making greenary in difficult/ problem soils. As it is spiny, it is very difficult to extract even for using it firewood. Mechanical harvest may be tried. "
