*Dear Friends,*

*Ephemerals of SGNP, Borivali, were the ‘Show Stopper’ of our previous
Walks in the forest………since they have completed their short life cycle and
gone back in the arms of mother nature……..we, once again, move to urban
gardens of Mumbai ……Sagar Upvan (Bombay Port Trust Garden), Colaba has some
very curious Cacti in their Glass House and around……..the Cacti has unique
ways of surviving in the Deserts of America and have spread all over the
world with the help of Man, who is always fascinated by their physical
structure & flowers……… then there are Euphorbia plants, they are like
Cactus…..succulent & thorny……..but they are not Cactus……… many mysteries,
myth & legends are connected with Cactus & Euphorbia……..it would be very
interesting to find out which plants are Cacti & which are Euphorbia…….
Moreover, in the garden, fruits of Chikrassy (Chukrasia tabularis) can be
seen…...these fruits are not seen by many………. Bakul is flowering
profusely………..Kajra Strychnos nux vomica is laden with fruits……..We invite
you all to take a Tree Appreciation Walk in Sagar Upvan, Colaba on 8th
