Sir, This is basically* Populus nigra *L. var*. italica* Du Roi. This variety was introduced in different parts of the World during 1700 propagated through cuttings ( Bailey,1935 )*. This variety probably organized in Western Asia and had been under cultivation for long period in the Kashmir Himalaya and North-West part of India (Parker 1918)#. This variety is common in cultivation than that of *P. nigra* L.
