Thanks a lot, Singh ji.
A reply from Dr. panda from another thread:
"Yes, the family Vacciniaceae was included under Ericaceae as the subfamily
Vaccinioideae long ago. Besides, Monotropaceae, Pyrolaceae, Epacridaceae,
Empetraceae, Stypheliaceae are also included under Ericaceae based on
molecular data (Kron et al. 2002b in Botanical Review).
Therefore, now Ericaceae s.l. (sensu lato)
Ericaceae s.l.
*Genera*:
Agapetes
Arbutus (not recorded from India)
Azalea (included under Rhododendron)
Craibiodendron
Cassiope
Diplarche (now included under Rhododendron by Argent)
Empetra (not recorded from India yet)
Enkianthus
Epacris (not recorded from India yet)
Gaultheria
Leucothoe
Lyonia
Monotropa
Pyrola
Pieris
Rhododendron
Styphelia (not recorded from India)
Vaccinium
I will do most of the genera, except Rhododendron (as I did not revise it
during "Flora of India" project as well as in my Thesis work. Therefore, I
need Dr. D. Bhattacharyya (Assam University, Silchar) who revised Indian
Rhododendron, Dr. A. A. Mao (Jt. Director, BSI, Shillong) who has excellent
contribution in North-eastern Rhododendron and Dr. M. Sanjappa (former
Director, BSI, presently in Botanic Garden, Agricultural Univ, Bengaluru)
who have real knowledge of almost all Ericaceae in India.
