The 5-parted perianth and hairy characters of the stem were also insisting me to go with Persicaria viscosa....but the leaf shape and red blotch were confusing me. I wonder if the red blotch has earlier been reported in P. viscosa. Generally we can see red blotches in P. maculosa and P. lapathifolia..but this plant is definitely different from both in having 5 parted perianth and hairy stem. Danser (1921) while working on P. lapathifolia, recorded leaf blotches a constant character. Hence still wondering where to put this plant. Waiting for some more inputs.
