Hi,
 
This looks very much like Madhuca longifolia var longifolia(South indian 
Mahua) to me too. This does not look like Madhuca nerifolia because M. 
nerifolia fruit has a characteristic beaked strand like structure in 
the end of the fruit. Also the leaf apex of M. nerifolia is rounded and i 
can see in one of the leaf in the picture that that apex is not rounded.
