Bougainvillea can be very easily propagated by cuttings. Pruning of the plant is in any case necessary during the rainy season. Take some cuttings of old branch, pencil length, and a little thicker than that of a normal pencil, as thick as checking pencil. Use some root hormone. It roots easily; the success rate is fairly high. Let us see the photographs you have. If they are already on the net , please let me know the link.
