Resurfacing again for ID confirmation My searches on the net found some confusion between the two species although typical (most on the net) specimens of the two species are quite distinct: Pachystacys lutea with orange yellow erect compact spikes with white flowers sticking out, and Justicia brandegeana with laterally spreading somewhat flattene drooping and loose spikes which are pinkish to light red in colour. Our plant clearly resembles latter plant except for flower colour and may belong to Justicia brandegeana cultivar Yellow queen or Lutea.
