In light of the recent discussion with Pudji Ji in a thread <https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!topic/indiantreepix/FrcqDVNQ95o> it appears to me now that this plant may be *Xanthosoma*, cf. *X. sagittifolium* (L.) Schott.
Illustrations and description can be found in Curtis's - - http://www.botanicus.org/page/438616 - http://www.botanicus.org/page/438617 - http://www.botanicus.org/page/438615 I think leaves and spadix perfectly matches with the above description and illustration, except the ovaries which the magazine describes are of green colour. There is book with a few words on *Xanthosoma* in India - http://books.google.co.in/books?id=u0GEFZAWoZkC&pg=PA189&lpg=PA189&dq=xanthosoma+sagittifolium+bengal&source=bl&ots=rMRYaNsWOR&sig=G5Q9MK20ixOAH-51Tn4odX9g6g0&hl=en&sa=X&ei=wbcJVNnDLsOGuATV5YCABQ&ved=0CGwQ6AEwDQ#v=onepage&q=xanthosoma%20sagittifolium%20bengal&f=false Thank you Regards On Tue, Oct 15, 2013 at 7:39 AM, surajit koley < [email protected]> wrote: > Good morning Sir > Thank you very much :) > > Regards, > surajit > > > On Tue, Oct 15, 2013 at 6:21 AM, Nidhan Singh <[email protected]> > wrote: > >> Lovely set of pics Surajit Ji.. >> >> >> On Mon, Oct 14, 2013 at 11:25 PM, Prashant Awale <[email protected]> >> wrote: >> >>> Wow, superb..
