Usha di,

This is Antidesma ghaesembilla
<http://www.phytoimages.siu.edu/imgs/benctan/r/Phyllanthaceae_Antidesma_ghaesembilla_33719.html>
(Phyllanthaceae/ Euphorbiaceae; ovary superior).
Vaccinium
<http://www.biotik.org/india/species/v/vaccneil/vaccneil_en.html>(Ericaceae;
ovary inferior) in Tamil Nadu generally occurs in high altitudes of W. & E.
Ghats and not recorded from the present locality.
The features of fruits and leaves are completely different in these two.
I am familiar with this species; and incidentally this is from my study
area :)
Several experts have already confirmed the ID here, so I won't doubt or get
confused.

Regards

Vijayasankar
