I have been trying to know what actually nouchali mean, but can't find any 
reference. Even N.L.Burman didn't mention this name anywhere in his book 
(as far as I can find). This word must be name of a guy and most likely 
from your area or a bit lower in Coromandel. Some old names are hard to 
find but you can look out for variants of the name in the telephone 
directory :)
