too many cultivars of the red/burgundy leucadendron...
unless you have them side by side and even then its difficult ...

'sunset' variety comes to mind, yet then there is ' wilson's' .. 'safari
sunset' endless names...

its very popular with cut flower industry, so cultivars galore as are the
names...
that's why when one brings plants home from nursery one has to religiously
take the label off and stick it into one's garden notebook along with
address etc of the nursery.. or the wholesale supplier.. if one ever wants
to study it..

hybridizers identify parents based on seeds, then form color flower cone
etc and ultimately by DNA fingerprinting...

in garden shows i have heard people say ( i hope flippantly) that if you
want to start a cut flower business, just plant a few leucadendrons and
you'll get off to a running start.. so there has been this rush to
hybridize madly

what you have is a plant that someone planted a few years ago only...
so difficult to say ..???species..
FYNBOS area scientists may recognize the cultivar... from these pictures..
but there is haze in the pictures, color is not saturated to be true colors
of the bracts or cones are not really visible...

etc etc

sorry AArti I know you like to nail down a diagnosis but cant force it in
all cases
