The main difference what I could make out between Ceratophyllum and
Cabomba was, leafs were narrow and almost cylindric and slightly
grooved but with serrated margins and pointed leaf apex in
Ceratophyllum, whereas it was narrow and but inflated, with entire
margin and rounded leaf apices in Cabomba. Cabomba doesnt give the
floating leaves in the beginning, it comes out later I assume.
Then there are some species of Limnophylla too, which has
heterophyllous leaves very similar to this one in the picture, but I
assume, they tend to grow straight !!
But yes, I cant give a determinative as I am not very sure from this
picture and secondly, I am doubtful is Cabomba is found in wild in
India, unless it was introduced from some aquarium as it is one of the
common aquarium plant, you are more experienced than me Gurcharan sir,
so you may have seen more specimen then what I have seen.
Thanks a lot for ur suggestion.
Regards
Pankaj
