Dear Dinesh,
I too had come across similar trees on the way to Rajmachi Fort from
Lonavala during my visit in Dec-08. I too had seen many such trees with
profuse flowering & as indicated by you, the fragrance was strong and
pervaded the air for few metres around the cluster of trees. Locals told me
that they call it Lokhandi. Subsequently it was identified as Ixora
brachiata*.*
Thanks & best wishes
Prashant
