Dear Swagat, seen similar plant at Mahabaleshwar on 16 FEB 08 ... put up at FOI: http://www.flowersofindia.net/catalog/slides/Gallinero.html
If your plant matches the plant at my flickr photostream: http://www.flickr.com/search/?s=int&w=91314...@n00&q=Acnistus+arborescens&m=text then it may be *Acnistus arborescens* of Solanaceae ... native to tropical Americas, cultivated elsewhere in tropics ... popularly known as Gallinero or Wild Tobacco, the flowers are followed by pea-sized orange tomato-like fruits.
