Surajit ji
As per Cucurbitaceae of India (Renner and Pandey, 2013) and paper supplied
by Renner recently on our group, the correct name is Solena umbellata, and
it grows only in Sri Lanka and South India, not Bengal. The plant growing
in NE India is Solena heterophylla, which does not have a beak at all, nor
pointed or narrowed end. This is the fruit represented in my book, and
clicked by Ritesh ji. I think it has no comparison with Coccinia grandis in
fruit or flower.
