Dear All,

I was going thru the allied flowersofindia website on the Solanaceae family
and many popular species like Chili (Capsicum frutescens), Tomato
(Lycopersicon esculentum), Night Blooming Jasmine (Cestrum nocturnum),
Datura (Datura innoxia) are labeled "Native" while less popular cousins are
either "Introduced" or "Naturalised". Wikipedia mentions these species as
native to the Americas and globalized only after the conquest of the New
World by Europeans.

What is the opinion of the experts here on the native range of these
species?
