Dear All,

In continuation of the present discussions on the subjects of posting, I
understand the very objective of this portal as ‘Documentation of Indian
Flora’. We all must follow self discipline to make it most effective. Mere
number of posts is of no significance, but the posts that get added to the data
base are significant. Besides choosing subjects we need to provide information
such that it is useful for others. The original descriptions and illustrations
of Indian plants are still beyond a layman’s reach.

Photographs do not give everything that may be necessary for a correct ID, and
information necessary for ID may not be gathered at site just due to excitement
or due to lack of awareness. I have gone through this process myself. I am
therefore suggesting a format for posting plant information for ID. You all can
suggest changes in the same. The outcome will be a streamlined format which
will keep the unwanted subjects at bay and the objective of building eflora
will be smoothly on way.
