I suppose the lateral veins on the leaves of Bridelia retusa are exactly parallel and will be same even in new leaves. My replies are based just on the locality I am used to and I have seen similar leaves and fruits in recent times in these areas. Diospyros does show variability in leaf character. My answers are more of an observation than expertise. Would like to know other views too.
