Pretty image of a beautiful flower..

My attention was drawn to your statement:
'in wasteland near..'

I consider the observation very apt as I too have always found this flower 
in surroundings we humans describe as 'wasteland etc. and the flower and 
it's beauty really stand out against the stark background / surroundings.

Yes, may be A. pannosum.
