Dear Gurcharan ji,
You are absolutely right! I checked other details of Montanoa
grandiflora with my original pictures. Leaves, leaf-stalk, seed-pods,
flowers and blooming time, all agree very well. I am happy this is
finally identified. This one had stumped many experts who are familiar
with the flora of Karnataka. Montanoa grandiflora is native to
Houndras in Central America. I wondered who planted it so extensively
in Nandi Hills. Three cheers for efloraofindia group!
