Dr. Sunoj Kumar (Calicut university) has identified this as *T. wightii*
Hook.f. which is the common species occurring in Kerala. Key to the two
species of *Teucrium* found in Kerala as provided by Sunoj sir:

*T. wightii*................. Leaves thick, ovate obtuse, rounded or
cordate at base, crenate at margin
*T. plectranthoides*.... Leaves membraneous, ovate acute, base entire
truncate subcordate, deeply and irregularly serrate.
