Thank you so much Sawmliana Ji for the feedback. Yes, I was wrong assuming it to be *Schizostachyum polymorphum*. It is not <http://www.cvh.org.cn/db/data_photos/data_index.php?action=exit&sname=Pseudostachyum%20polymorphum&id=1>. I further missed your state, correct link would be http://www.bambootech.org/subsubTOP.asp?subsubid=103&subid=37&sname=STATE.
So, you have zeroed in to two species -1) *Schizostachyum manii* and 2) *Bambusa khasiana*. I am not sure if *Schizostachyum manii* is a synonym of *Racemobamboos mannii <http://www.bambootech.org/subsubTOP.asp?subsubid=103&subid=37&sname=STATE>* (nothing found on this taxon). However, your Govt. website does list the taxon http://forest.mizoram.gov.in/page/bamboo-resources-in-mizoram.html. But, the taxon is "wrongly assigned" & should be a *Bambusa* sp. as per the 'paper' - http://docs.kfri.res.in/KFRI-RR/KFRI-RR330.pdf. Even, if it is the same taxon of FoC's *Phyllostachys mannii <http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=2&taxon_id=200025918>* your species is not likely the same. We do not have much on *Bambusa khasiana* except the attached FBI description, KEW description <http://www.kew.org/data/grasses-db/www/imp01266.htm> and illustration <http://www.plantillustrations.org/illustration.php?id_illustration=128265&mobile=0&code_category_taxon=>. The ID seems to me to be possible. Can you please share some daylight photographs of new shoots and nodes of mature culm....
